Shane Kersh – Pedicting What Will Happen In The Europa League Final

 The Europa League Final

We are less than a week away from the 2019 Europa League final which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan on Wednesday evening. The game will be an all-English battle between Chelsea and Arsenal and we are lucky enough to have soccer expert Shane Kersh here who has been talking about the keys to this game and the way in which he thinks the game will pan out. This has already become a controversial game given that Arsenal and Chelsea fans received just 12,000 tickets for the 67,000 seater stadium, and Henrik Mkhitaryan will sadly not play because of political issues. Instead of getting into that however let’s just focus on the football and here is how Shane believes it will go down.

Chelsea

Shane believes that both teams certainly have what it takes to win this competition but he does give Chelsea the favorites tag because of their late-season form which saw them clinch 3rd place in the Premier League. Shane spoke at length about the importance of Eden Hazard for the Blues, in what may very well be his final game for the club. The jury is still out as to whether that means Hazard will play better as a send off, or whether he may wish to protect himself from injury ahead of a big money move to Real Madrid. Shane also cites N’Golo Kante as the key to this game, especially given the fragility of the Arsenal midfield. Get Kante and Hazard firing on all cylinders and Shane believes that this is Chelsea’s to lose.

Arsenal

As Shane rightly pointed out, what Unai Emery has done with this team this year has been nothing short of miraculous, especially given that woeful defense which they have. For Shane the key to Arsenal trying to beat Chelsea comes down to another two men, Lacazette and Aubameyang. These two are incredibly prolific goalscorers who play well together and who are both in rich veins of form. Shane joked that with Arsenal’s fire power they could concede 3 and still go on to win the game. Shan was keen to discuss how well Arsenal have done this year in the Europa League, seeing off giants like Napoli and Valencia with absolute ease. A huge benefit for Arsenal which he spoke about was the fact that Emery knows just what it takes to win this competition, having done so no less than 3 times consecutively with Sevilla, he clearly has the Midas touch.

Prediction

Although he can make a case for either team winning this game Shane has put his full support behind Chelsea who he believes are a better side, a more disciplined side and a team who, on their day, can beat just about anyone in the world.

Do you agree with Shane’s predictions or do you see the game going another way? Let us know in the comments.
