What is the right level of e-juice nicotine for you

posted by Chris Valentine

If you’re new to vaping, everything can be confusing at first. After you purchase an e-cigarette and decide what e-juice you’re going to use, there’s one more thing to determine. You have to think about what amount of nicotine is right for you.

People don’t usually know what’s the nicotine level in traditional cigarettes. But you have to be aware of this substance quantity in e-juice. When you’re smoking cigarettes, part of the nicotine burns away. It’s not a case when you use e-cigs. In this article, you’ll find out how to choose the right amount of nicotine that is the best for your needs!

What is nicotine, and what level is right for you?

Nicotine is an alkaloid that works as a relaxant and a stimulant. People who are taking this substance feel calmness, and their mood is boosted. It is considered as a physically and psychologically addictive.

E-juices come with a wide variety of nicotine levels. There are juices with low or even none nicotine, and there are some that can go as high as 36 mg/mL. Before you choose the proper quantity for yourself, you have to consider a few factors like:

Cigarette equivalency: if you used to smoke before, you’d like to take as much nicotine as you did to feel the same pleasure. However, keep in mind that vaping is different than smoking. Because of that, it’s recommended to use e-liquids with a lower nicotine amount, even if you were a heavy smoker.

Taste and throat hit: juices containing higher nicotine levels give harsher taste and throat hit. If you want to enjoy the flavor more, you should consider trying e-liquid with a lower amount of this substance.

Frequency: if you rarely vape during the day, a higher nicotine level could be better for you. When your vaping sessions last longer, a higher amount of this substance can cause nausea and dizziness. In that case, juices with a lower nicotine level are better for you.

Sub Ohm Vaping: if you’re sub-ohm vaping, you should choose a juice with a smaller nicotine amount because more vapor is produced, and as a result, a higher amount of substance is ingested. Because of that, it’s easier to achieve a “sweet spot” with a lower nicotine level. If you’re Sub Ohm tank user, consider buying e-juices with 6 or even 3 mg nicotine levels.

Nicotine strength equivalency

Comparing vaping nicotine levels to traditional cigarettes can be hard. Everyone’s body absorbs this substance differently. The amount of nicotine you deliver to the body isn’t just dependant on how much substance is in e-juice. It also depends on the frequency and inhalation size. In order to find your perfect nicotine level, you’ll have to experiment a bit. To most people, the following substance quantity usually works the best:

0 mg/mL – if you want to enjoy vaping free of nicotine, go for e-juices without this substance. They’re perfect for people who are trying to get rid of nicotine, and successfully reduced the amount of taking it.

3 mg/mL – this is the perfect option for light smokers, who used to have less than 10 cigarettes per day. Also, if you’re working on your way down from higher nicotine levels, you should try it out.

6 mg/mL – is best for those who were smoking “light cigarettes” before. If you were light or moderate smoker, you should start with e-juices of this power.

12 mg/mL – you should pick this one if you were smoking unfiltered cigarettes, or you were a heavy smoker (up to 30 cigarettes every day).

Reducing the amount

Some people might want to find the nicotine quantity that suits their needs perfectly, but for many, vaping is the first step to quit smoking. If you’re trying to reduce this addictive substance quantity, do it gradually.

Don’t rush, and don’t reduce the nicotine amount by too much, or else it won’t work, and you’ll have to vape more frequently than before to satisfy yourself. Do it step by step. If you’re using e-juice with 12 mg/mL nicotine level, wait a month before you change it to 6 mg/L.

If your goal is to get to a nicotine-free level, then this process will take some time, but again, don’t rush. Reduce the amount slowly, so your body gets used to the current dose.

Choosing the right level of e-juice nicotine can be hard, but if you read more about it and experiment a little on your own, you’ll soon know what e-liquid nicotine level is best for you.
